ROUNDUP

The best Hyrox training apps, compared

Our pick is Complete, our own app. Complete is the fitness superapp: every sport counts, and you compete with your friends in all of them. For Hyrox it trains the stations as well as the runs, and on a Hyrox plan it shows an estimated finish time built from your own splits once you add a singles race result. FORMD leads with weak-station work, ROXFIT with splits against the field, Runna with run pacing and Centr with a 12-week program and nutrition guidance.

How we compared them

Complete is our own app. We wouldn’t build it if we didn’t think it was the best, we train with it ourselves, and we work every day to make it better. We read each rival’s own pages on 18 October 2026: its US App Store listing, its website and its page on hyrox.com. Where two pages disagreed on a fact, we left the fact out. Every fact about another app carries a source below, and you can email us a correction.

We compared the apps on six questions. We did not give a single score. Our pick is Complete, and each rival below has a section on where it beats ours.

QuestionWhy it matters
What does it start from?Your goals, a race date or a fixed program decides what the app asks of you when there is no race on the calendar
What Hyrox work does it do?The stations and brick sessions, not only the runs
What does it tell you after a race? Results, splits and what to fix
Does your other training count?Your runs, lifts and other sports are most of your week
Which phone and watch does it work with?An app that does not fit your devices is the wrong app
What does it cost? What is free and what sits behind a subscription

Hyrox work, devices and the hyrox.com list

Hyrox lists some training apps as online training partners on hyrox.com. Being on the list or off it says nothing about how good an app is, but it is a fact you can check.

Complete: our pick and our own app

Complete starts from the goals you pick when you join, not from a race date, and counts every workout toward them: Apple Health from any watch, imported FIT files (the workout file most sports watches can export), runs tracked with your phone and sessions you log. When you have a Hyrox race, the plan trains the stations as well as the runs, with brick sessions, where a station and a run come back to back as in the race. We think brick sessions are the best way to train for Hyrox, so we build them into Complete’s Hyrox plans. Hyrox sessions are in its library for you to run when you choose. Add your own race result and Complete reads your total time, your eight run splits, your station splits and your transition time. If it was a singles race and you are on a Hyrox plan, Progress then shows an estimated Hyrox time built from those splits.

Strengths: your lifts, runs and other sports all feed the same daily recommendation, the Coach can suggest an easier day when your recovery is low, and competing with friends is there if you want it. Complete is free to download, and logging and sharing your workouts on it stay free.

Limits: Complete is an iPhone app. It has no native Garmin, COROS or Strava connection; Garmin, COROS, Polar and Suunto workouts come in through Apple Health. It is not on the list of online training partners on hyrox.com.

FORMD

FORMD’s page on hyrox.com says: “FORMD is the only HYROX app that adapts every session to you.” Its features page promises that you “Know your projected finish time before race day”, and says its station analysis “identifies your weakest links and creates targeted workouts to fix them”.

Strengths: Full and Quick simulation modes, singles and doubles teams, an AI coach, Apple Health logging, sessions you can run from your watch, and a place on hyrox.com’s partner list. The App Store shows a 4.8 rating from 113 ratings.

Limits: FORMD Pro costs $19.99 a month on the US App Store, and the annual and quarterly plans start with a 3-day free trial. Its 113 ratings are far fewer than ROXFIT’s 4.3K or Centr’s 21K, so there is less public feedback to go on.

Where it beats Complete: pick FORMD when you want an app to name your weakest stations, or when you race doubles.

ROXFIT

ROXFIT calls itself “The app for HYROX & Hybrid racing.” Its home page lets you browse upcoming Hyrox events, follow any athlete live, and find and link your results to compare your splits against the field.

Strengths: station-by-station breakdowns of your races, a free core app (workouts, its AI assistant HYPE, Race Goals, race tracking, results and your profile), Android and Wear OS support, and a Garmin app. The App Store shows a 4.8 rating from 4.3K ratings.

Limits: its FAQ says structured multi-week plans are not yet available. Race predictions and personalised pacing sit in ROXFIT Ultra, which is Ultra Annual at $79.99 or Ultra Monthly at $15.99 on the US App Store listing. ROXFIT is not on the list of online training partners on hyrox.com.

Where it beats Complete: pick ROXFIT when you want your race results analysed against the field, or a Garmin or Wear OS app on your watch.

Runna

Runna’s page on hyrox.com says its plans “adapt to your schedule and combine HYROX-specific running, strength, and mobility sessions”. It adds: “With 8 runs per race, our pacing strategies help you nail every 1km”, and “Connect with an in-app community of HYROX racers”.

Strengths: pacing built around the eight runs, a community of Hyrox racers, a place on hyrox.com’s partner list, and sync with Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Coros and more.

Limits: after a free 7-day trial, Runna costs $119.99 a year or $19.99 a month.

Where it beats Complete: pick Runna when running is the part of Hyrox you most want coached.

Centr

Centr’s page on hyrox.com describes “Centr’s 12-week expert-backed programs” in two tiers, HYROX Starter and HYROX Accelerator, “With expert guidance on nutrition and recovery”. Its App Store listing calls it an “Official HYROX-certified program”.

Strengths: a fixed 12-week structure with nutrition and recovery guidance, and, on its App Store listing, expert-designed meal plans tailored to your food preferences. It offers a 7-day free trial, runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and shows a 4.8 rating from 21K ratings.

Limits: its Hyrox offer is a 12-week program.

Where it beats Complete: pick Centr when you want meal plans and nutrition guidance in the same app as a 12-week Hyrox program.

A full Hyrox rehearsal from Complete, written out

This Hyrox session comes from Complete’s library, so you can judge the work yourself. It is the whole race at half volume: eight runs of 500 m, all eight stations in order at half distance, with wall balls last. “Race weight” means the weight you would use on race day. Effort is out of 10, where 10 is all you have. Run it 3 to 6 weeks before the race and log every split.

To scale it, beginners use 50% of race weight and 300 m runs, because the aim is to learn the structure. The open version uses 75 to 100% of race weight, and the pro version uses full race weight.

BlockWhat you do
Warm-upRow for 8 minutes at effort 3 out of 10: long, easy pulls, so you settle in before the work starts. Run 400 m at effort 3 out of 10 to open the legs up, with a few strides at the end. Do the world’s greatest stretch 4 times per side to open the hips, because it is a long morning.
Run 1Run 500 m at effort 7 out of 10. Race pace from the gun: patience is the whole plan.
Station 1: SkiErgSkiErg 500 m at effort 8 out of 10. Even split.
Run 2Run 500 m at effort 7 out of 10.
Station 2: sled pushSled push 25 m at effort 8 out of 10 with race weight. Low hips, short steps.
Run 3Run 500 m at effort 7 out of 10. The post-sled run: find your stride again fast.
Station 3: sled pullSled pull 25 m at effort 8 out of 10 with race weight. Use your legs, not your arms.
Run 4Run 500 m at effort 7 out of 10.
Station 4: burpee broad jumpsBurpee broad jumps 40 m at effort 8 out of 10. Keep a metronome cadence; this is where races unravel.
Run 5Run 500 m at effort 7 out of 10. Halfway: check how far your splits have drifted.
Station 5: rowRow 500 m at effort 8 out of 10. Resist the fly-and-die opening.
Run 6Run 500 m at effort 7 out of 10.
Station 6: farmers carryFarmers carry 100 m with race weight. Brisk, tall, no drops.
Run 7Run 500 m at effort 7 out of 10. Your legs are dead now, and that is the rehearsal.
Station 7: sandbag lungesSandbag lunges 50 m at effort 8 out of 10 with race weight. Knee to the floor, no rushing.
Run 8Run 500 m at effort 8 out of 10. The last run: everything you have left minus one gear.
Station 8: wall ballsWall balls, 50 reps at effort 8 out of 10. Decide your break plan before rep one, for example 20, 15, 15. Keep depth and hit the target to the end.
Cool-downRow for 8 minutes at effort 2 out of 10. Easy flush with long, smooth strokes and no rush.
